Among hundreds who attended Ellen’s memorial service today, I belong to the small portion of people who only knew Ellen rather recently. I first met Ellen in 2002 at an organizing committee meeting for a Chinese New Year celebration variety show by local Chinese musicians and artists. Ellen and I, together with a few others, were assigned to work on the ticket sale task. My first and last chance to work with Ellen turned out to be a very pleasant experience, since, in addition to her open and charming personality, she always reported promptly the progress in her part and made an impressive ticket sale at the end. As reflected from the stories by many of her friends and colleagues today, she was always very much involved in community activities and I should know it too. Ellen, our community will greatly miss you! And THANK YOU!
